Abstract
The discovery of a Neolithic vase at Motya during the 43rd documentation campaign (2023) of the Archeological Mission to Motya of the University of Rome «La Sapienza» sheds new light on the history of the prehistoric settlement. The vase, in the ceramic style of the Diana culture, dates between the late 5thmillennium BC and the early 4th millennium BC (Motya IA, 6000-3500 BC) and it represents the oldest ceramic find so far documented at Motya.
