Abstract
The interpretation of the Phoenician-Punic tophet is changed in the years, from the affirmation to
the negation of human sacrifice. Beyond the human sacrifice, the tophet can be interpreted as place of
the negotiation of the different identities, the Phoenician and the West Phoenician.
