Alcune osservazioni sulla statuaria arcaica di Copto

Abstract

This paper reconsiders a series of sculptures, including the renowned «Colossi of Min»,
discovered by W.M.F Petrie at Coptos in 1894. After presenting the statues, discussion will focus on
the chronological and religious position of the material within the early temple, outlining problems and
possibilities in interpretation.
